Hole 9 - Herds Way

The 9th / 18th  of each nine is played from elevated tees and is a dog-leg left back to the clubhouse.  There is gorse and a heather bed on the left corner, which should be avoided.  There is also out of bounds on the left hand side, all the way down to the green.  The green slopes from back to front, making it difficult to get the ball to stop, particularly in the summer months.

Pro tip:  Do not be greedy off the tee, as too long a first shot will end up in the rough beyond the fairway.  Although the tiger-line is to cut the corner, this often leaves too short a second shot to get spin to stop the ball on the green. Aim your drive at the two trees to the right of the fairway to give yourself a second shot of about 100 yards.  Look at your putt from all angles as there are many subtle breaks across this green.
